Leadership Training

The Junior League of Chicago offers leadership training opportunities designed to help our members develop their leadership potential. Central to the mission of the Junior League is developing the potential of women to be civic and community leaders.

We offer a wide variety of formal and informal training opportunities to help members learn, grow, and apply their knowledge and experience. Our training programs are designed to assist members with the tools they need to build a better community here in Chicago. Current training programs include:

JUNIOR LEAGUE OF CHICAGO UNIVERSITY (JLCU)

These regularly scheduled leadership training opportunities aim to provide additional tools for our members to become effective volunteers and to develop as community and civic leaders. Topics focus on Healthy Lifestyles and Leadership and have included sessions such as “Healthy Snacks on a Budget”, “Building Effective Team Dynamics”, and women’s health issues like “Heart Health” and “Breast Cancer Awareness”.

GENERAL AND ANNUAL MEETINGS

The JLC hosts League-wide meetings twice per year; once as the Fall General Meeting, and an Annual meeting each May. The meetings update League members on projects, fundraisers, and news in the League.

A SPIRIT OF ONGOING LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

The Junior League of Chicago seeks to develop trained volunteers and women leaders through all aspects of membership. Members are active on committees of their choice, which provides the opportunity to gain valuable skills and try new things in a safe and fun environment. Members learn how to execute successful fundraisers, run impactful community projects, and work collaboratively with other leaders and the community at large.
