The Junior League of Chicago is taking part in #GivingTuesday, an effort focused on changing how people think about, talk about and contribute in the holiday giving season. As retail stores promote holiday shopping through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday encourages people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities and the world by giving back to the charities and causes they support!

Through December 1st, we have a very generous League supporter who will match your first month’s installment gift toward the Annual Fund. So, consider setting up a monthly annual fund gift, and know that your gift will be leverage for even greater good.

This year we are focusing on our ever day spending. #GivetheReceipt on #GivingTuesday is THE latest trending hashtag for our League efforts. Here is how you can participate:

1. Find a meaningless receipt (from Starbucks, the grocery, nail salon, etc.)
2. Take that meaningless receipt and turn it into a meaningful gift
3. Share your story on social media by using the #GivetheReceipt hashtag
4. Pat yourself on the back for making a difference in Chicago
